Introductions and short biography

Hi! My Name is Ryan Hollingsworth and I'm a highly enthused and extremely passionate graphic and web designer along with post production film editor. On this site you will find my personal design portfolio as well as my film work. Currently my service are available for hire, and I'm eager to meet new clients.

I am presently a senior at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa Alabama finishing up my double major undergraduate program focusing on both graphic and web design and audio video media production. Although I have always had at least two jobs during college I have gained a vast amount of experience during my time at the University. I have been employed by the University to redesign one of their division's web site, designed flyers and logos for events and functions as well as several t-shirt designs. Currently I am teaching through the Honors College a class that produces short films to be used in fourth grade history classrooms. In this class we cover pre production, production and post production, where I specialize, I help students adapt to the Mac OS and the basics of Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro.

I am 22 years old and extremely passionate about what I do. A few codes I live by are:

Honor, I am in the Honors College; however, honor to me is a lifestyle that reflects in my every day life. My projects are always punctual and I am never late.
Selflessness, Ever since I became a Christian I always have had the motto "selfless before selfish," which shows in my work ethic and relationships with coworkers. I do not work in environments where employees are expected to underhand one another and steal sales. I prefer the synergy that comes from teamwork and lifting one another up in the workplace.
Humility, I believe its vital to have confidence in oneself and one's accomplishments; however, humility is what makes an individual a great. The ability to do great things humbly brings out the genuine character of the individual and sets them apart from their peers.

2008Began teaching at the University of Alabama media production.
2007Employed by University of Alabama to redesign the housing divisions web site and repair and maintain PC computers.
Ryan Got Married to His beautiful bride, Megan.
2005Ryan is accepted to the University of Alabama with Honors as a freshman.
2004Ryan graduates High School form Bob Jones High School with an Advanced Diploma.
2000Ryan publishes his first web page.
1998Ryan's art teacher tells him that Photoshop may be a program worth learning and Ryan begins his courtship with Adobe Creative Software.
1995Ryan has his first exposure to a PC, which he then took apart to better understand what made it work.

How it all began

I have had several different web sites since I began my education in web design. As for personal web portfolios this is version 5.5.

This site's primary purpose is to show my works and skill sets that I have developed during college; however, this site is also a work in itself. This site has been entirely hand coded for the sole purpose of showing the skills I've developed with XHTML and CSS.

Site Info

Currently, there are some flash elements in this site that are less accessible for some users, in the near future these flash elements will be replaced with a simpler and more accessible html page. Their use was intended to streamline production of this site so I could get it online as quickly as possible.

Future Additions

The future of this site will include php integration. I am currently undergoing the process of learning php, mysql, and apache and plan to implement those skills into this near future of this site in some form.

As soon as this site is up in running I plan on developing a web app or iPhone/iPod touch application version of it for the purpose of learning how to design and execute one of them.
